Pam Hanan, Watertown
When Pam Hanan of Watertown decided it was time to
remodel her 70’s era kitchen, she wanted a design that
offered something different. Her kitchen remodel started
with completely gutting the space and opening up the
soffits to add space and light. While the floor plan
didn’t change, she installed all new cabinets,
countertops and flooring.
In working with Laurie Peirick, Kitchen Designer, she
found that the designer’s creativity impressed her the
most. “I always wanted something a little different,
something that wouldn’t look like anyone else’s kitchen.
Laurie always came up with little touches that made a
whole world of difference,” said Hanan. Cabinet trim,
selected glass-fronted cabinets and lighting details all
provided the unique look Hanan was after.
Craftmanship and attention to detail also added to
her satisfaction with the project. “The carpentry and
fit of the cabinets are as close to perfect as you can
get,” she said.
“She really listens to what you need, and fits the
project to those needs,” said Hanan. She highly
recommends the design team at JP Kitchen Studio to other
customers.

JENNIFER & DAVE HAGEN,
Oconomowoc, WI (click photos to enlarge)
They
no longer have the “ugliest” kitchen:
Oconomowoc family wins $7,000
kitchen makeover from JP Kitchen Studio.
Dave and Jennifer Hagen were surprised to get the
call in April 2006. “This is the first thing I’ve
ever won,” said Jennifer. Now they are the proud
owners of a brand new kitchen.
The Hagen’s entered
“Lake Country’s Ugliest Kitchen contest” last spring.
The contest was created by JP Kitchen Studio to
help celebrate their Grand Opening on April 7, 2006. “We
wanted to come up with a fun way to introduce our
business to the Lake Country area,” said owner Sean
Jacobs. “Once we started promoting the contest, we
received almost 40 entries.”
Homeowners were
asked to drop a photo of their “ugly” kitchen by the new
studio, or send a photo via the website. A panel of
local judges helped to chose the Hagen’s as the winning
kitchen. The judges were Gina Magnus of Oconomowoc,
Susan Smith of Local Color, Dan Karas of Hallmark
Building Supplies and Kent Johnson, Architect.
Dave Hagen grew up
in their Oconomowoc home, so he had been living with
that kitchen for, “as long as I can remember!” Dave,
Jennifer and baby Jack are now enjoying their bright new
kitchen.
The Hagen’s
received a kitchen makeover worth more than $7000,
including Corian countertops, Bertch Marketplace
cabinets and hardware, $250 of paint from Sherwin
Williams, and a new Corian sink. JP Kitchen Studio donated all design services and installation,
sent the Hagen’s to dinner at Rosati’s and all suppliers
gave deep discounts. The homeowners installed their own
ceramic tile flooring, added attractive new light
fixtures and bought new stainless steel appliances.

DAN
& MONICA TRUDELL, Oregon, WI
"Both Dan and I want to thank you for
the fantastic job you did on our kitchen. We are
beyond delighted with the results and are both
extremely happy with the way we were treated by JP
Kitchen Studio. When we first met with you, you
brought some great ideas to us, keeping in mind our
objective to remodel the kitchen so it would be
ready for us to sell the house in a couple of
years... The Bertch Marketplace series cabinets are
of extremely high quality and very versatile....
Aaron and Trevor were terrific to work with. They
were extremely efficient and innovative in solving a
problem they encountered in hanging the cabinets. We
were very impressed with the quality of their work.
While remodeling a kitchen is not easy on those of
us living through it, in the end it was all worth
it. Every delivery date was met and we experienced
no delays. All in all, the project came in on
schedule and under budget."

terrific. The cabinets are to die for. I can't stop
sitting at the counter and just gazing! Don't you just
love the lighting - that chandelier over the sink - Wow!
You all should be very proud!”

SCOTT
& WENDY PAGE, Oconomowoc, WI
The Page's came to JP for an update.
Even though they had white cabinets, the
counters and back splash were very dark and the one
light fixture in the middle of the room didn't give
adequate light. Since Wendy is a gardener, and loves
to can vegetables in the summer, this kitchen needed
to work hard. Wendy chose Legacy oak toffee cabinets
in a timeless Shaker style with simple, but large
crown molding, granite counters, a travertine tile
backsplash with accents of black granite. A
communication center was added to house a small TV,
radio and phone near the table. The floors were also
refinished and provided a warm backdrop to the
updated cabinets and countertops. Now this kitchen
is a joy to cook in. "Wendy...what time is
dinner???"
